When opening a saved/bookmarked group of tabbed windows, I always have an
initial tab that's empty.
I would suggest to close that first tab if no page has been loaded.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Mozilla
2. Ctrl+N
3. Open tabbed bookmark
Actual Results:
initial tab was blank
Expected Results:
no initial tab

Reopening - incorrect resolution. This is not a duplicate of bug 153016. It
doesn't want to insert anything anywhere. It simply wants to do away with the
left-most "dangling" tab that serves no purpose when opening a bookmark group
with only a single tab in place.

I'm surprised that this is "new" - but I can't find a specific dupe, although I
think it's been referred to indirectly in some of the other bookmark group bugs.
Confirming but changing severity to enhancement since it's really just a tweak
to existing behaviour.

From the Description of bug 153016:
>One thing this would address is the very annoying "hanging left tab" syndrome I
>now see. I run Mozilla and immediately open a tab group. Now I'm left with a
>left-most tab that I don't care about and have to always close in annoyance.
Isn't that exactly what was requested here?
I still think this is a dupe of bug 153016, although bug 153016 is even more
drastic perhaps since it suggests reusing the current tab even when it is not
empty.

No. This bug is not asking for anything to be inserted. The first tab of the
group is to replace the existing single tab - the remainder are to be appended
to the end.
The effect of bug 135016, in the case of a single tab, is actually the above,
but in implementing it the behaviour of opening a tab group where there is more
than a single existing tab would be radically different than what we have now.

Expanding on original comment 0:
This bug should be about replacing a single existing tab with the first tab of a
tab group if said single tab is either blank OR the browser's defined Home page.
(In other words, you should be able to open Mozilla and immediately open a tab
group - regardless of whether the initial tab is actually blank or the intial
Home page - without having a resultant dangling left-most blank or Home tab.
Also, minor note: The methodology of reproducing this bug as stated in comment 0
lists the redundant middle step of hitting Ctrl-N. It can be more simply
reproduced by just opening Mozilla and opening a bookmark group - there's no
need to open a 2nd browser window.
This bug blocks bug 159431.

I just found the dupe.
