User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:91.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/91.0
Steps to reproduce:
I have a list of containers that I have manually sorted alphabetically. Then right clicking on the new tab icon or on an existing tab and choosing to open in new container tab.
Actual results:
The containers are listed in creation (or possibly random) order
Expected results:
The containers should be listed in the manually sorted order

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::DOM: Core & HTML' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Currently, this is only supported in Multi-Account Containers via the ContextualIdentities API. Since Containers are being supported by default (no addon required) in Firefox soon, we should port this feature to about:preferences#containers.

Did you want to nominate this for the Fx155 relnotes? If so, set the relnote-firefox flag to "?"
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Release_Management/Release_Notes_Nomination
Possible wording:
Containers can now be reordered in Settings.

Release Note Request (optional, but appreciated): Containers can now be reordered in Settings.
[Why is this notable]: Containers improvements are important to share because this functionality has been enabled in 153 and it seems extremely beloved by the community
[Affects Firefox for Android]: no anroid support
[Suggested wording]: Containers can now be reordered in Settings.
[Links (documentation, blog post, etc)]: none
