as "Unread Message count ERRORS ???".
BRIEF BUG:
When the APP ICON BADGE is configured to show "Count of NEW messages", the TRAY ICON BADGE (which has no configuration option!?) hover-popup says "5 UNREAD Messages". !???
QUESTIONS:

Does the yellow 'sunburst' before the 'Subject' field indicate a 'NEW' message?

What is the definition of a NEW [unread] message?

As contrasted with an OLD [unread] message?

When an incoming message is automatically forwarded (or otherwise processed?) by a filter, that seems to modify (clear) the 'new-ness' of unread messages above it in the list. Does this make sense?

The "App icon options" dialog is more confusing than it needs to be; see attached (App icon options.jpg).
I just set: "[_] Show badge icon" = OFF (not checked). It's more clutter than I want.

New means "not seen before".
