With the latest nightly, I can no longer open any attachments to documents in my
IMAP mail (haven't tried POP3). Double clicking the attachment or
right-clicking and selecting "open" does nothing.
I can save the attachments by right-clicking and selecting Save As, but can't
seem to open them inline.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
Additional testing has found that I can open attachments that are handled by
Mozilla or a plugin (e.g. text/plain and .pdf files), and it seems to be based
on MIME type rather than extension (e.g. plain text .loc files, used for GPS
waypoints, but MIME typed to text/plain work fine, but .reg files which are also
plain text, but MIME typed as application/octet-stream don't).
I've tested various MS Office files (Word, Excel, Project, etc.) and none of
them work.
This appears, strangely, to be a duplicate of bug 174815, or at least it's also
fixed by deleting the compreg.dat file while Mozilla isn't running, and it
happened at the same time as another bug that's now marked as a duplicate of
that one.
