Details

Steps to reproduce:

Viewing a message in an IMAP root folder

Actual results:

DISCLAIMER: This is specific to thunderbird only, if I use any other client the messages display normally.

When I view a message in an IMAP folder only the first message displays correctly. The 2nd message will display the headers and everything else from message 2 AS WELL as message 1. Message 3 will show 3, then 2, then 1 in the body. Using any other IMAP client I do not have this issue. I thought this was an issue with my IMAP server, but the fact that it works as expected in Outlook, Webmail (Roundcube) as well as on a test iPhone and Android mail client shows that it is specific to the Thunderbird beta chain.

For example, right now in the inbox I have a few messages. The newest one came in at 21:25 my time. It displays just fine. The message before it came in at 19:40 and it displays it's message body as well as the headers for the message that came in AFTER it at 21:25. If I go down to the 59th message in the inbox, then I see it AS WELL as the other 58 messages.

I don't know exactly which beta version this was introduced in, but this is a fairly recent change.

Expected results:

It should only display the one message body, not anything else.

Pretty sure this is/was bug 1734847. You'll have to go to folder properties, then Repair Folder, to fix it.
