If phoenix is opened as a window and is not maximized, the url drop down box appears to the right of the url bar.
Please see the bug reporting guidelines at http://www.mozilla.org/quality/bug-writing-guidelines.html and always include the date of the build you tested with your bug reports.
I can't reproduce this with 20021014 Phoenix - URL drop-down bar looks fine on W2k. I always use Phoenix as a window and not maximized and have never seen this.
I can confirm this bug in Windows XP in 1280x1024 mode. Move the Phoenix window so that the pulldown menu is about halfway off of the screen. Press the half of the button that's showing and voila, the pulldown menu is all the way to the left. I could not reproduce this bug in lower resolutions. I am using the October 20th nihgtly build.
I see this on linux also. this is not phoenix specific, and is probably a dupe.
>>this is not phoenix specific, and is probably a dupe. I see this on Windows 2000 with Phoenix 0.3 and with Mozilla 1.2b. >>I could not reproduce this bug in lower resolutions. I can see this with 1024/768.
I don't think this is a bug, but rather the correct behaviour. When Phoenix can't display the pulldown box in full, due to uncommon window positions it moves the box to a position where it can be shown in full. Suggesting WONTFIX or INVALID.
I see this on Win2k and 20021020, 1024x768.
wfm Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021020 Phoenix/0.3, build 2002102008 I get a scrollbar with a lot of items. No displacement.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021020 Phoenix/0.3 I can duplicate with W2K SP3 1280x1024 screen size. I tend to agree with Simon (comment 7). If I hang phoenix off the left side of the screen, the drop down is at the left edge of the screen. If I hang phoenix off the right side of the screen (onto a second monitor) the right side of the drop down is aligned with the left edge of the address box.
Reproduced on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021020 Phoenix/0.3 I've reproduced this with last nights nightly build. It seems like the behavior is different depending on the side of the screen. Here are the steps to reproduce: 1. Drag phoenix window off the right side of the screen (slightly). 2. Bring down drop down box. 3. The drop down box will be to the left of the menu bar. To contrast, if you drag to the left side of the screen the dropbox will be offset and visible, but not as offset as before, and shows the correct behavior. It really is a bug, it's just that the behavior varies so much, and should be consistant. The screenshot shows the bug reproduced at my full screen width, the my computer icon serves as a stable reference.
I revise my position (mentioned in comment 7). Phoenix behaviour is correct, when the window is partially outside of the screen on the _left_ side. If you push the window a little bit over the edge on the _right_ side (and your window nearly fills the screen (see attachment), the url drop down box is positioned to the absolute right of the url bar. It should be positioned relatively as it is done, when the window is partially outside of the scrren on the left side.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021021 Phoenix/0.3 I'm also running into this. It would appear that this issue also occurs when there is no menu item to the right of the address bar and the window is maximized. See bug #175679 for screenshots and notes.
Also, try dragging the window so that part of the url bar is beneath the taskbar. When you click on the drop down arrow Phoenix tries to make itself useful and move the menu but fails.
I'm confirming the bug and changing the status. So far most people have seen this under various windows versions but only one person has seen this under linux. Can some linux people please test this, so that the developers know that this problem is not platform specific.

<ncronin> move the window so that the down arrow in the url bar is cut in half by the right edge of your screen. <ncronin> type something in the url bar to get autocomplete to make the dropdown. <drbrain> the popup is to the left of the urlbar OS -> All I'm on FreeBSD, this is a phoenix a day old (CVS) I can even align the window such that the entire dropdown is left of the screen border, and the popup is left of the URLbar

Having the same problems with every nightly build since v0.4. On my laptop with 800x600 resolution, window maximized, Phoenix hardly ever shows more then half of the menu, like the first screenshot. On my desktop, 1280x1024, the problem also occurs, but sometimes it shows correctly. If the screen is NOT maximized, Phoenix seems to act the way suggested: trying to get the menu on screen completely. I suppose that this behaviour should not happen when maximized, since Phoenix is occupying the entire screen. The menu should never show left to the url bar if there are only a few buttons left of the bar, sice it could never fit. While it should fit correctly if shown right beneath the url bar.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030516 Mozilla Firebird/0.6 WinXP 1024x768. Have the same problem but I confirm that when I added a separator after the address/location bar then it fixed the problem.
