all GtkOptionMenu not working on Linux

Details
None of the GtkOptionMenu widgets in the preferences are working under linux. I
can pop the text menu, but cannot select a different item. This happens both
with M10 and the 19991026 build. I have a RedHat 6.1 install/glibc 2.1 on a PPro
180 / 64 Meg

I think this is a dup, but I can't seem to find the original. Also fails on Mac,
workaround is to use cursor keys to select and dismiss popup. Anyway,
this is not an XPToolkit widget, reassigning to kmcclusk.
