Details

The following problem arose a couple days ago: Not only does the "Add/Edit Attachments" button not appear in the Hotmail Compose page, attempts to forward messages with attachments do not indicate that attachments are present. Also, the "Quick Address List" does not appear to the right of the address/subject portion of the page. There are no such problems when I try the same via Netscape 4.79. I have tried clearing/erasing caches and history. Any ideas? Mozilla 1.0, Build ID 2002052917
J, please retest using a more recent build.
I just downloaded and installed Mozilla 1.1 on another Mac G3 running OS 9.0.4, with the same results described in the original bug report. Even stranger is that, in addition to the lack of an "Add/Edit Attachments" button, the Compose page in Mozilla 1.0 and 1.1 has an "Insert Address" button in place of the "Quick Address List" section which shows up in Netscape 4.79.
By the bye, I could find no Build ID anywhere in the Mozilla 1.1 download/install.
I'm sorry, John, I should have been more specific. Please retest using a current nightly build.
Greg: Many thanks for your input. I take it that no one else has reported such a bug and that you can't replicate it. From my standpoint in looking at Hotmail from Mozilla 1.0 and 1.1 and Netscape 4.79 and 7.0, it would seem that the Hotmail pages belong to different versions. I'm not familiar (and therefore not comfortable) with using "nightly builds", ie how such might affect my already installed and functional Mozilla browser and the like. My understanding is that doing such could compromise more than just my browser. If you can advise how one copes with "nightly builds" and can walk me through the procedure(s) so that I might be reassured that nothing disastrous will befall my machine, I'd be most appreciative.
John, you're not the only person with the problem. I (and others) are having the same trouble. I'm running Mozilla 1.2beta, build 2002101612, on Windows XP. My comments are in the entry for bug 174651, which this bug 174776 seems to duplicate (as does bug 174893).
carroll@tjc.com: Definitely the same bug. (At least I'm not losing my mind, or at least not because of this.) Strange that it should happen in Mozilla (all versions) but not in Netscape, since the latter is based on the former. Hotmail tech support, as usual, has nothing relevant to offer in resolving the issue.
Please see my comments 7-10 and their attachments in bug 174651.
