User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:95.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/95.0
Steps to reproduce:
Select "File" -> "exit" should save all windows and tabs for restarting FF "next time".
Actual results:
The previous session is NOT restored. Deleting some tabs and then exiting does NOT save all windows and tabs completely.
Expected results:
The previous FF session should be restored.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi George!
I was unable to reproduce this issue on latest Nightly version 98.0a1 (2022-01-11)(64-bit) on Ubuntu 20.
Could you please try to reproduce it on latest Nightly and tell us your input? You can download it from here: https://nightly.mozilla.org/.
If you still have the issue please create a new profile, you have the steps here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Managing-profiles#w_starting-the-profile-manager
Thanks!

Hi, due to the lack of information from the reporter, I will close this issue as incomplete, but please reopen it if you have more info that might help us reproduce this issue. Thank you.

Howdy,
I somehow missed the need info request.
I use nightly frequently and the problem does NOT exist there... ONLY the "released" versions of FF.
I'll make a new profile to test with and report the results "here".

Hi,
Made a new profile and opened a new web site and did "file" -> "exit" and restarted. The tabs did NOT get saved.
Best regards and STAY SAFE.

Howdy,
I hate to do this but, since I feel that I'm being ignored, I want to file a complaint about this situation.
The problem I have described STILL EXISTS. I have tried writing a new bug report but it was closed as a d up of this one.
I have found NO way to escalate problems to Mozilla.
Can I PLEASE get someone to look at this bug report AND do something to resolve the problem?
Thanks,
George...

Hello,
I have tried to reproduce this issue with Ubuntu 20, 21, Fedora 35 and KDE Neon on the affected 97.0a1(20220109215539) as well as 101.0a1(20220420215300) with no avail.
I have also tried to reproduce it on the latest 101.0b4(20220508185621) and 102.0a1(20220508190220) and 100.0(20220428192727) with the same results.
Are you still able to reproduce the issue? If yes, could you please try and reproduce the issue while following the steps from this tutorial and provide the result here:

Hi,
I am continually seeing this problem with the released versions of Firefox... currently 100.0. The problem does NOT exist in the Nightly versions.
Do you need more info?
Best regards, and THANKS for responding to this bug report... I had almost given up.

(In reply to George R. Goffe from comment #0)
Steps to reproduce:
Select "File" -> "exit" should save all windows and tabs for restarting FF "next time".
You need to also check the "Open previous windows and tabs" preference. Without this the windows and tabs will be available under your History menu, but aren't automatically re-opened next time Firefox starts. The fact this works in nightly but not release suggests some difference in the profile. Checking this preference would be my first guess.
Its been 2 years so I'm going to close for now as works-for-me, but if this doesn't address the issue and you can still reproduce, please re-open and we'll look again.
