User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:96.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/96.0

Steps to reproduce:

In the message list, the "received" and "date" columns are displayed, and the values appear the same in both columns. In the column "received" the value is probably correct, in the column "date" there should be a value expressing the sending

What I have found is that the "Date" column accurately reflects the date and time the message was sent, but the "Received" column also displays the date and time the message was sent rather than the date and time of the most recent "Received" header.

I'm fairly certain previous versions listed this correctly, but I'm not positive, and at this time I can't say what version the behavior changed.

I believe this bug is miscategorized. It should be considered a defect, not an enhancement request.

This problem still exists in version 128.7.1esr. I received a message on February 27, 2025, 4:22 PM pacific time. It showed as being received at that date and time with the Android mail app and by the webmail page connected directly to my email server. However, I did not see the message in my Thunderbird Inbox. I finally found it with the email that arrived four days earlier, with the received date and time February 23, 2025 3:05 PM. Opening both the Date and Received column headers, the dates and times shown were the same. I will include the relevant email headers below, with two actual email addresses changed for privacy. As shown, the value in both the Date and Received Thunderbird columns was from the "Date:" header, with the time value shown by the other email programs coming from the "Received:" header, which reflected when the message actually arrived.

I don't know why the dates in the message differed by four days, obviously not a Thunderbird problem. However, Thunderbird should reflect the accurate receive date and time and should comply with other email programs.

I also have problem with "Received" and "Date" column version 146.0.1 (64bit) version of Thunderbird.

I received an email this evening. I saw it in my inbox, deleted it, then in some reason I wanted to check it again in the Trash folder. In the Trash folder, I noticed that ordering is wrong. I noticed that "Received" and "Date" columns show the same values. I checked the raw email and confirmed that both columns show the value of "Date" header of the email, which is correct for "Date" column but for "Received".

Can you pleas check this?

The Received column can be made to display the correct value by changing a preference:

Hi, if you mean add "Received" keyword as an extra space separated value to "mailnews.customDBHeaders" preference in Advanced Preferences then it doesn't help even after using "Repair folder" button. So far, only workaround I found is to use "Order Received" column instead of "Received".
