Steps to reproduce:
- Open Thunderbird
- Enter text into global search bar
- Hit ENTER
- Try to select the text in the global search bar (or the faceted search bar)
Actual results:
Text is not highlighted (Although it does seem to be selected since a backspace removes the text)
Expected results:
The text in the search bar should be highlighted like any other selected text.

This works for me with 99.0a1 (2022-02-10) on Mac.
Your bug report is missing your OS and TB version.
Hi Wayne, TB Version 98 on Windows 10 Desktop.
If this is working for you I can do some more testing tomorrow on a vanilla install.
I'm still seeing the issue on 99.0b1
However, I did discover that the issue is only present when the theme is changed. (I normally use the built-in dark theme).
If I disable all Thunderbird themes and switch Windows back to "Light" mode, then it works (Leaving windows on "Dark" mode doesn't work)

I can confirm this on Windows with beta 100. I presently cant test Mac.
The text IS selected, but not seen visually.
