Steps to reproduce:

Clear a single item from the address bar history:

  1. Type or paste enough text for Firefox to show the item in the drop-down.
  2. Press the ↓ down arrow key or move the mouse, to highlight the item.
  3. Hold down the Shift key and press Delete on your keyboard.

(you may refer to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/remove-websites-address-bar-suggestions )

Actual results:

The single item is not cancelled

Expected results:

The single item must be cancelled

Hello Danilo,

I've looked over your reported issue, but I cannot reproduce it. Any history websites or search terms can be successfully deleted from the address bar drop-down. Are you by any chance trying to delete suggested search terms, because those are not covered by this functionality.

Hello Cristian,
I've added an attachment file to show the problem: I'm trying to delete a website, not a search term.
Thanks.

I can't reproduce this either, and this has test coverage so I'd be surprised if it broke.

  1. Press the ↓ down arrow key or move the mouse, to highlight the item.

The Support article is wrong about this -- you need to press the down arrow key to highlight the item. Moving the mouse over the item will not work.

In your screenshot, it looks like you've only moved the mouse. If you use the down arrow key instead, does that work?

If not, could you please open the Browser Console (Tools > Browser Tools > Browser Console) and let us know if there are any errors reported when you press Shift+Delete?

Hello,
using the down arrow key does not resolve the problem.
I've cleared the Browser console and then executed Shift+Delete: the Browser console doesn't report any error.

Based on your screenshot, it looks like you clicked the address bar without typing anything in? In that case, the address bar shows you your top sites, and currently there's no way to remove top sites from the address bar. That's the only time where you can't remove history/bookmarks from the address bar. If you type something and then try it with the arrow keys, it should work.

I'll dupe this to bug 1629122.
