1. play the video
2. click on the gear icon, select the quality drop down

result: PIP invokes and moves the video into the PIP window
expected: the embedded controls work

On macOS 11.6 and my Windows 10 device, PiP is only invoked when clicking directly on the overlap between the PiP and the video quality control. The video quality control has a fairly large click-able area, so moving the click a few pixels away from the overlap area brings the expected result.

Jim, can you please tell us whether the defect happens regardless of where you click on the video quality control?

Confirming what you are seeing, the 'popup controls' with the drop downs lose clicks.
