I have mail filters that don't auto run on new messages or when I login to the
mail server (IMAP).  Running the "run filters on selected folder" works, so I
know that the filters work, and they are enabled, but I have to keep manually
running the filter to catch new mail.

I just downloaded Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3b)
Gecko/20030210 and it still is not working.

Please add a preference setting to filter automatically incoming mail (Mozilla
1.3 doesn't have this feature)

This is happening for me using Mozilla 1.5 under Linux too, but only on certain
filters. Some appear to work fine automatically, while others only work when run
manually.

Sorry, I should have made that more clear in my description - it isn't
completely broken - most files are properly filtered, it just grabs more after
running it manually. I don't think that the filter isn't running all filters (I
only have one filter, although it does have multiple OR conditions - around 20),
I think that for some reason it either isn't applying the filter conditions to
all messages or isn't applying all conditions to the messages - not sure which.

I have more info on this bug.

I have a filter that does a "begins with" filter for "to/cc"
"[e-mail]".  When the autorun on new mail/login runs, it grabs the
messages fine.  However, if you run the filter manually on the folder, it will
then grab any email that is to/cc that _contains_ "[e-mail]".  So
for example, on login, it properly grabs only email to/cc
"[e-mail]".  When I run it manually, it also grabs email that is
to/cc for "[e-mail]", etc.
