Details

The option of setting a default download folder that overrides the system default--and negates the need for a save dialog--would be a nice addition. Add a CM selection that saves a link's target directly to the default folder without any additional input from the user to the dialog-less download, and you've gone one big step further towards your ease of use goal. You could name the CM link "Save link to Download folder" or whatnot.
Why (beyond alleged "nice") would Chimera need a separate folder pref in addition to the system pref? A pref for dialogless downloading could be implemented with the folder set at the system level as the target.
The CM idea is similar enough to bug 163886 that it would be better of as a comment on that bug; Chimera having a pref to override the download folder (which is fluff IMHO) should be filed as a seperate bug from bypassing the download dialog. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 163886 ***

re: #1 -- Many of us use more than one "Internet App". Web, FTP, P2P, etc. I've gotten in the habit assigning a nested folder for each app within the system's default download folder using the app's preferences (if possible.) OmniWeb has the usability I mentioned--both the folder option and CM. IE has the folder option. iCab has the folder option; and possibly the CM (it's been a while.) I think they're valid requests. re: #2 -- I apologize for the dupe. I did a search using "contextual menu" as the query. Obviously not thorough enough ;)
