i let messages on server, delete when deleted localy, in pop account settings.
if i create rule, example: if sender contains @athing.com moves to folder
localfolder\athing.
all messages are moved to athing without any problem. but, if i delete messages
from athing folder, they go in local folder/ trash, i empty local folder/trash ,
the messages are not deleted from the pop server.
i have seen this failure in all the release that i tried since Mozilla 1.0
there i have 1.2b build ID:2002101612

Hm, POP mails are managed offline not online?! So why should there be "i empty
local folder/trash, the messages are not deleted from the pop server."?

i manage mail online.
scuse me, maybe my poor english is why i don't really understand your question.
but, to try to explain better:
if i choose to let message on pop server and "delete messages when deleted
localy", i think that messages that i delete localy would desappear from the pop
server, or, if i go on my pop server via webmail i see that all messages are
still here. i have to delete them manually.
in Mozilla, i have 20 messages in a local folder (athing), 78 messages in my
inbox, 0 messages in trash.
if i go on the webmail i have 176 messages.
i have done some test and now i think that the problem occurs only with ruled /
moved messages. they are never deleted from pop server.
hope it will help you.
