Details
Whenever I download any file to my computer, in download manager or when Mozilla
asks me what I want to do with the file (run it from current location or save to
disk), the icon appears discolored. Everytime I have done it, it turns a
blue-ish color. Works in Pheonix 0.3 and Mozilla 1.2b.

And where does it NOT work?
What build are/were you using?
Where does the icon change its color? In your Windows Explorer windows or in the
Download Manager?
I think in the Download Manager it might be intended to show that the download
of the file is finished.
This occurs only in Mozilla. It occurs in every part. Windows Explorer is
completely unaffected. Also, I believe it shouldn't have that wierd color, the
only OS it ever shows up in I've seen is Win95. Win98, Win2k, WinXP, and Linux
2.2 and 2.4 don't show this behavior.

> This occurs only in Mozilla. It occurs in every part.
- what does that mean?
I don't know many 'parts' in Mozilla where file icons are displayed.
Download Manager or elsewhere?
You also did still not state your build-ID/Mozilla version.
-My latest user-agent line: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:1.2.1)
Gecko/20021130
-By "part", I mean component, as in Mail, Composer, the Browser itself, etc.
-It occurs in the Download Manager and Progress Dialogs.

Does it look like in the attachments in bug 101357?
(e.g. http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=50541&action=view)
It's probably a duplicate of the bad icon painting on Win95 reported there.
What Video Card are you using? Does it happen to be an older ATI card?
Yes, it looks very similar. More likely than not the same problem.
And yes, I do in fact have a Mach64 ATi video card, from 94 or such.

agenthh, does it *only* occur "in the Download Manager and Progress Dialogs"?
Or also under "Edit - Preferences - Navigator - Helper Applications"? Click on
some mime-types to test it or create some for known filetypes - you can easily
delete them again afterwards.
I also have an old computer with ATI card at home and will do some testing next
weekend.
You may try setting your color resolution to 24 bit (TrueColor) in Windows
Display Properties if it is currently at 16 bit (which that other bug suggests).
Does it help?
It occurs in the Helper Applications dialog as well.
And as for changing resolutions:
It occurs on all 16bit and 8bit color modes.
The 24bit and 32bit modes don't show this, but the highest useable resolution is
640x480 (I don't have a good monitor...), so...
Also, I can't put the resolution past 1024x768 (monitor again).
I would say that this is a duplicate of bug 101357, I originally didn't think of
testing the helper app icon property page (I didn't know it even existed). It
does not occur under Win98 on the same machine. I'm going to try some different
drivers when I have time.
