Bug 1686616 migrated most of these interfaces, but ObserverService couldn't be landed due to crashes. Once that is done, it looks like some further cleanup could be done. See the other bug (and the obsoleted patches in there) for more information.

We have some bugs on file about observer service weirdness that might help with the mysterious crashes.
