Hmm, maybe took some time for the .msf to get recreated (bug 1773822 may have been involved).

After upgrading to 102.2.0 through the normal release channel, all my saved search folders have disappeared like the reporter.
Additionally—although maybe not relatedly—clicking on individual emails from global search results and the "Show results as list" button produce an empty message list. So global search appears to be non-functional.
This comment from bug 1773511 mentions "manually correcting" the problem described there, which, granted, may not be related to what we're seeing here at all. But some of the discussion around the bug does mention corrupted/missing .msf files.
Is there a solution for "manually correcting" problems with missing/empty/corrupted .msf files? I've got something like ten years of email in three accounts, so I'm predictably reluctant to delete my Thunderbird profile and start over, but if that's what it takes…
Are the saved search folders gone forever, or could they feasibly be recovered from a backup (e.g. Time Machine on macOS)? Is downgrading to 91.x at this point inadvisable, or is that a possibility to get saved searches and global search working again?

Kevin, Yunis,
Have you seen the same issue when going to version 115?
bug 1773822 does seem like a likely cause, but I don't think we will ever know for sure.
bug 1777606 comment 13 has a workaround.
I'm using 115.2.2 currently, in this version, I see the search folders but the properties of the search shows that the "Select the folders to search" option has automatically unchecked all the folders and only highlighted a single folder, the initial search when I conducted was to check all folders.

With 115 rolling out now, it's probably a good idea just to close this. I have long since deleted and re-created those search folders, and there's no 102 in my distro's repositories anymore anyway, so there's no looking back now.

(In reply to Yunis from comment #6)

Different bug then?
