104.0a1 (2022-07-01) (64-Bit)
macOS 12.4
Steps to reproduce:
1.) Enable System Dark Mode in OS-Settings
2.) Set browser.theme.colorway-closet to true
3.) Go to about:addons
4.) Open the Colorway Closet
5.) Select between Soft/Balanced/Bold
Actual: The background of Colorway Closet switches between Light/Dark, which burns my eyes because I expect always a dark background in Firefox when I am using System Dark Mode.
Expected: The background of the Colorway Closet should consider System Dark Mode Setting and leave the background always dark.
(In System Light Mode, the background should be then always light.)
A screencast is attached.
Thanks for checking.

This is expected behavior. The dialog uses the same settings as web content and about: pages. In about:preferences under "General > Language and Appearance > Website appearance", you can change that setting to always follow the System theme rather than the Firefox theme.
Hello Dão,
Thanks for your feedback. I tried it with all "Website appearance" variations, but unfortunately it didn't help. The background color of the dialog changes always between white/black when switching between Soft/Balanced/Bold :(

Yeah, so it looks like I was wrong about the dialog using content settings. It's still expected behavior though that such UI surfaces are affected by the Firefox theme.
