Steps to reproduce:

can pip subtitle support for invidous be added to firefox?
by invidious I mean youtube alternative selfhosted interface.
https://github.com/iv-org/invidious

Component: Untriaged → Picture-in-Picture
Product: Firefox → Toolkit

Invidious uses video.js, so we could add it to the list of overrides using our video js site-specific wrapper.

Summary: pip subtitle support for invidous → pip subtitle support for Invidious.io
Severity: -- → N/A
Priority: -- → P3

you change the title : Summary: pip subtitle support for invidous → pip subtitle support for Invidious.io

but that is wrong.
the Invidious is correct without io.
it is a self hosted thing.

Summary: pip subtitle support for Invidious.io → pip subtitle support for Invidious instances

This is the official list of public instances: https://docs.invidious.io/instances/ .

I believe this bug can be closed now. Firefox seems to be showing the PiP button on all instances.

Flags: needinfo?(mconley)

Thanks for following up on this ticket. I suggest we keep this ticket open, for several of the public instances in the list still need wrapper support. For example:

Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true

It would be nice if users can specify a comma-separated list of domains/IPs for Invidious instances in a pref. Public instances comes and goes nowadays and hard-coding it doesn't really benefit self-hosted or private instances.
