Steps to reproduce:
Waited, several times. Tried deleting various numbers of messages. realised that 4 sometimes 5 messages was the maximum at one time
Actual results:
System "Greyed" out and failed to respond
Expected results:
Messages should have been deleted

Dennis, I've tried this on gmail-IMAP account and it worksforme - about 10 messages selected get deleted to via DEL key instantly without delay.
102.1.2 (64-bit), win10

Kind of a standard procedure...
- Please start Windows' in safe mode with networking enabled
win10 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode - Still in Windows safe mode, start Thunderbird in Troubleshoot mode
