Steps to reproduce:

I started Thunderbird Daily 105.0a1 (2022-08-18) on Wayland in Plasma 5.25.4 on Wayland in a Fedora 37 KDE Plasma installation.

Actual results:

The mail folders weren't shown in Thunderbird Daily 105.0a1 (2022-08-18) each of a few times I ran it. I have folders for an IMAP server and Local folders in my profile. This problem didn't happen with Thunderbird Daily 105.0a1 (2022-08-17) which still showed the folders normally.

I ran mozregression --good 2022-8-17 --bad 2022-8-18 --app thunderbird -p ~/.thunderbird/9hcim5o9.default --profile-persistence reuse

The bisection finished with the following.

The first bad revision was for Bug 1783831 - handle compose case. Five other revisions were in the pushlog though.

Expected results:

The mail folders would be shown normally in Thunderbird Daily 105.0a1 (2022-08-18)

I tried to set Regressed by to bug 1783831 but Bugzilla showed Access Denied. You are not authorized to access bug 1783831. I'm setting the component to Folder and Message Lists as that looks appropriate. When I started Thunderbird Daily 105.0a1 (2022-08-18), Firefox sometimes started with the Welcome to Daily page for Thunderbird which was unusual.

The email messages weren't shown either just to be clear. The mail folders and emails are still there in the profile and were shown when I ran mozregression --launch 2022-8-17 --app thunderbird -p ~/.thunderbird/9hcim5o9.default --profile-persistence reuse

I see the issue on Fedora 36 x86_64. I have two imap accounts and normally have to enter my primary password before the Thunderbird window appears for one account and then again after the window appears however this morning I only had to enter the first password and then the window appeared without folders or emails and didn't receive the second prompt.

I'm seeing this in some of my profiles.

Fixed by backout of bug 1785267.

Since only some profiles are affected, I think toolbar customization and/or whether chat accounts were set up for the profile is playing in.

Thanks. When I selected Help > Troubleshoot Mode > Restart in 105.0a1 (2022-8-18) then selected the Reset toolbars and controls box and Continue in Troubleshoot Mode in the Daily Troubleshoot Mode popup, the mail folders and emails showed up normally. When I restarted in 105.0a1 (2022-8-18) in normal mode, the mail folders and emails weren't shown again. I right-clicked on the Mail Toolbar then selected Customize > Restore Default Set > Done. After that the mail folders and emails appeared correctly in normal mode. Some toolbar customization might been involved in the problem in my case. I don't have a chat account set up.
