Chimera 0.6 on 10.2 - from networking core functinal test STEPS: using URL field's link, Open in New Tab (or command click if pref opens to new tab) EXPECTED BEHAVIOR: when switching to new tab (if tab loads in background), the "host not found" DNS error should be displayed (same error as if you click on link). Checked Mozilla 1.2a on Mac OS X to confirm correct behavior. OBSERVED BEHAVIOR: No error apperas.

Agreed, this can be confusing.

fixed. when you switch to the tab you still don't see the url, but that's a gecko problem. it doesn't know the url anymore and there's no way to know that info reliably from the front-end. fixing that (which is another bug) will require gecko changes.
