Steps to reproduce:
Mailed to a large mailing list. Tried to put the list in BCC but mis-clicked and it went into CC.
Actual results:
The list was sent open.
Expected results:
This is what "should" happen. But it's an error prone nuisance to have to remember to use BCC each time. I know there is a warning but a nice enhancement would be to mark an address book list entry as "use BCC" and have it automatically be put in the right place.

Hi Marc, thank you for sharing your RFE! Plausible scenario and useful proposal imo, and has been proposed before.
Popular bug 163498 (8 duplicates) essentially seeks the same effect, but the suggested implementation there is more complex as it would allow marking each mailing list member individually as To/Cc/Bcc.
I've tried to flesh out the main idea here and filed bug 1791659 - Implement Enforce Bcc
checkbox with strict behavior for mailing lists.

Well, if you actually click Add to CC
, we cannot override that, but maybe we could disable the Add to Cc/Bcc
buttons if the list is earmarked for Bcc
.
