User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:106.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/106.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Updated to v106.
- During the install, refuse to pin "private mode" to the Windows taskbar
- Close Firefox
- Open firefox
Actual results:
Once open, Firefox appears in the taskbar with the private mode icon, even though I am not in private mode.
Expected results:
Firefox should appear in the taskbar with the standard icon.
Since I haven't seen any other ticket with this bug, I think it must be something specific to my config? Here are more details which could be relevant:
- I have two profiles (professional=main profile and personal=secondary profile). This bug occurs only with my main profile. With my personal profile the icon is the correct one.
- Using Windows 10, nothing special about my OS I think.
Thanks for your help!

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Private Browsing' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Oh sorry, my comment is about Comment 5.
And if my bisection is true, this is other problem because reporter says it happens at firefox 106 not at nightly.

Hi, I see that this bug was marked as duplicate of the bug 1798819, but the latter bug is about Firefox Nightly which I do not use (I have this problem with the usual Firefox). Does this matter? Should I do something about it?
