news.mozilla.org account + a few subscribed newsgroups.
click on the newsgroup.

Click cancel on password prompt - prompt doesn't go away (or repeats).
Nothing in error console.

Reproduces (mostly) with daily 2022-11-11 in Windows.

While news.mozilla.org doesn't exist anymore, I couldn't reproduce this with another server, the password prompt can be dismissed. The special case in bug 167656 is still true, however.
