Details
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1389767 +++
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0
Build ID: 20170809080026
Steps to reproduce:
From any web page: Open menu, select Print.
Actual results:
Orientation automatically defaults to Landscape despite the fact that the printer preferences orientation is set to Portrait.
Expected results:
Should print in Portrait.
My production machines just automatically updated from 91.4ESR to 102ESR.
They are now experiencing the bug that surfaced with FF95.
Here's my setup:
Printer: ZDesigner GC420t (EPL) (A VERY common POS printer driver)
Printer Driver: https://www.zebra.com/us/en/support-downloads/printers/desktop/gc420t.html
OS: Win 10
FF: 102ESR
Orientation for the above printers will not save. Each time I use this printer with Firefox, I have to click "Print using the system dialog" and set it up each time. There are other printers that demonstrate this behavior in FF, but this one specifically should be enough to troubleshoot.
The problem does NOT exist in 91.4ESR
and DOES exist in 95.0. (My first discovery)
and DOES exist in 102ESR.
I see bug 1389767 and 1745446 are marked as a duplicates of each other.
I'm posting to the earlier one.
Thanks,
Alfadog
Just a couple of new comments:
It appears as though FF95 "forgot" how to read the orientation in some printer drivers.
I re-opened the bug, but it was quietly re-closed.
The bug exists, and my production machines are relegated to 92esr until it's fixed.
I can provide logfiles, screenshots, setup files, and even remote access if that's what it will take to reverse this FF95 bug.

Duping back to bug 1745446. It looks like that bug is in the right component, and seems to describe this issue.
