180167 - can't open a message while junk mail is filtering a large folder

I had a folder with about 8,000 new messages in it (it's an archive folder for
the curious.)  I searched for and found the message that I wanted in it.  I
clicked on the message to load it.  However, the message didn't load until after
junk mail had finished examining all of the messages in the folder which took a
long time.

I see behaviour that maybe related to this:

Select *all* the messagesin a NG, then Tools->Mark Selected Messages as Not Junk

They all get marked correctly, but if you then select a message it correctly
deselects the rest, but doesn't display it in the message pane. You can
mark/unmark messages as Junk, or Read, change the view, collapse/expand threads,
it just won't display the message body.

I have confirmed that it isn't due to the Junk filter still working as Moz is
consuming 0% CPU.

I can also change to another NG and view messages normally but going back to the
first one still doesn't allow the body to be viewed.

Restarting Moz (not just Mail/News) appears to be the only way to restore normal
behaviour in the affected group.

It doesn't appear to be the number of messages selected, but rather the fact
that I've selected ALL; I can select 20 from 30 and it works as expected, but if
the NG only contains 20 and I select them all then I see this behaviour.

Yes, I run into this all the time with not so large folders on IMAP.  

Not sure if we have another devoted bug along this specific issue, but one
general one is bug 179162 which covers issue about generally getting better
progress status while junk controls are running.
