Details
When downloading messages for offline use (via File->Offline->Download/Sync Now… or File->Offline->Work Offline and then agreeing to sync now in the resulting dialog), the status bar periodically reports the download status with messages in the following format:
NAME_OF_ACCOUNT: Downloading message X of Y in NAME_OF_FOLDER…
For each folder, the number Y stays constant, and the number X gradually increases. The problem is that X always gets much higher Y. For example, my status bar currently reads "Downloading message 3458 of 1764 in archive.sent-mail.sent-mail.2010…". This is completely nonsensical.

Yes, the problem is still reproducible with Thunderbird 115.1.
