Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:107.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/107.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to Youtube and play a video
  2. Enter Full Screen
  3. Don't Touch Mouse until playback slider disappears (so should cursor)

Actual results:

Now when you try to move your mouse, the cursor for the mouse does not re-appear. If you exit full screen, go to new tab, etc, the mouse cursor will not re-appear.

The only way for the mouse cursor to re-appear is to close firefox, and re open it.

Expected results:

The mouse cursor should have immediately shown up, as you move your mouse cursor again after being inactive.

NOTES:

  1. I'm running Firefox on Fedora 37, KDE Plasma 5.26.4, Wayland. This could be one reason for this issue.
  2. I do not have the same problem on Chromium

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Audio/Video: Playback' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Audio/Video: Playback
Product: Firefox → Core

UPDATE:

  • This problem still occurs but only in the Wayland Session. When I run firefox in X11 mode on my computer, this bug does not appear
Component: Audio/Video: Playback → Widget: Gtk
Summary: Mouse Disappears While Watching Video in Full Screen → [KDE] Mouse Disappears While Watching Video in Full Screen

Does this problem still occur?
Could this have been bug 1802877?
