User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 13; Mobile; rv:110.0) Gecko/110.0 Firefox/110.0

Steps to reproduce:

This occurs when I switch to a different tab and back. Nothing additional appears to precede it, so when it shall occur is impossible to predict.

Actual results:

The tab becomes inaccessible, for although the URL bar demonstrates that it has been switched to, the UI refuses to load it. Observe the attached video for demonstration.

Expected results:

None of this.

That URL is the “attached video”. It was too large to upload.

:cpeterson, could you have a look please?

I think I have the same problem: some tab do become responsive, and show the content of the previous opened tab.
I cannot see any trigger why some tabs have like this. But it is very annoying.

I uploaded screenshots to: https://imgur.com/a/3re0E8q

In the first image you see the content of klack.de, although I select a already open tab of heise.de. The address bar shows heise.de, but with the content of the previous opened tab. Then I open a new tab with the bug report side, and the "heise.de"-tab shows the content of this, if I go to the "heise.de" tab, after opening the bug report. Image four shows the overall opened tabs (2 and 4 to show, that I opened a new tab, and that the heise.de-tab shows the content of the previous opened tab also in the tab view.

I already deleted the cache several times. I use always the up to date version of firefox. In those screenshot it is 108.2.0, addons can be seen on the 6th image
I use Samsung S10+, with the newest Software. firmware (7th image).

Indeed, that appears to be identical, @bio12345. Was it remediated when you reinitialized Fenix?

I did not try to reset Fenix (delte cache and data in Android), since Fenix does not provide bookmarks and password export (anymore). They force you to use the sync mechanism with their cloud (like google, apple, windows, etc)

So. I completely deleted data and cache and set it up new one week after my answer. Yesterday firefox started to show the same annoying behavior again.
I am using the latest Firefox for Android from google play.

I don't believe that I've experienced this for a while now, using Nightly. However, I don't have as many tabs as I used to, nor am I frequently opening old ones like I used to.

Attached video 2.mp4

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open multiple tabs
  2. Switch between tabs quickly

Expected behavior

  • All tabs are accessible

Actual behavior

  • Sometimes one tab is not accessible
  • The displayed URL is the good one but the content is the one from another tab
  • Reloading the tab does nothing

It is very problematic when it is a 3D secure banking tab that become inaccessible and you need to validate a code in the bank website in another tab because the transaction fails.

Device information

Samsung Galaxy S5 :

  • Firefox version: 119
  • Android device model: Samsung Galaxy S5
  • Android OS version: Android 11

Samsung Galaxy S7 :

  • Firefox version: 119
  • Android device model: Samsung Galaxy S7
  • Android OS version: Android 12

Any additional information?

I attached a screen record of the problem "2.mp4" recorded this summer in an old Firefox version, but the problem is still here with version 119.0.0.

Hi QA team!
Could you help us to verify this issue?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Adina!

Would you mind trying the latest Firefox for Android version, at this time Nightly 122. We will close the issue for now but if you able to reproduce please feel free to re-open.

apetridean@mozilla.com, how many tabs did you have open simultaneously when evaluating this issue, and across what approximate span of time?

Flags: needinfo?(apetridean)

I had around 25 tabs open and it took a few seconds to switch between them. Please check the video attached.
