I think it would be nice to have this before implementing Bug 1556748

Andrei chatted about the telemetry we need (bug 1808254), "I think that xpcomabi already gives us that [telemetry] info for Windows anyway".
Suggestion of who could do this?

I think this already exists for Windows, "iswow64". And it seems to indicate that roughly half the Windows population is on a 32-bit build. It doesn't exist for non-Windows but I don't think that's relevant to this.
If we can get away without adding a probe for this right now, we should, as it will just need to be rewritten from scratch when we move to Glean in Q2.

It won't happen as soon as you think it will, so I think you might as well add it now, even if it has to get taken out later.

OK, so of Windows users:
3% are 32-bit Thunderbird on 32-bit Windows
46% are 64 on 64
51% are 32 on 64

So, more than half would benefit immediately? Is there a timeline set for this yet? Or implementation plan?
Thanks for doing this.
