The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Address Bar' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hy, thank you for the bug report!
Unfortunately I could not reproduce your issue. Would you be so kind as to answer a few questions so we can investigate this further?
- Does this issue happen with a new profile? Here is a link on how to create one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles
- Does this issue happen with latest nightly? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
- Does this issue happen when Firefox is in Troubleshoot Mode? Here's a link on how to enable it: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-troubleshoot-mode
Thank you.

Hi,
I tried with a new profile and the toubleshoot mode (I still need to try the nightly browser). Neither seemed to resolve the problem
Similar to an issue reported on the RedHat bug tracker [1] I also worked with the wl-clipboard package. When I copy random text wl-paste will paste and print it. When I copy it from the address bar it is empty.
While texting I found a potentially related problem:
- copying an URL with right-click Copy Link causes the same problem, setting the clipboard to an empty string
- Does this issue happen with latest nightly? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
I can confirm this happens with Nightly, I've had both the address bar and context menu copy issues on my desktop for over a week now. Running Firefox in XWayland works fine, only Wayland seems to have this issue. A workaround is to copy the address bar and paste into a text box in the browser, then copy that and it goes into your clipboard.
I have an Intel laptop and an AMD desktop with nearly the exact same Garuda (Arch) Linux and Firefox setups. The Intel system (ASUS Vivobook, i7-1165G7) does not have this issue but the AMD system (Ryzen 2700x, RX 6700XT) does. I've tested several Firefox installs with different settings and Troubleshooting Mode and the bug persists, or in the case of the Intel system I'm unable to reproduce it.
I'm willing to continue testing or provide logs if someone points me in the right direction.

+1 to this issue on a Ryzen 7 5850U, running EndeavourOS (Arch) Linux with KDE Wayland. Cannot copy from address bar nor "copy link". Occurs across multiple profiles, the workaround referred to by Griffin functions (copy address bar -> paste into a browser text box -> copy).
One thing I noticed is that downgrading Firefox to a previously working version (i.e. v107) does not resolve the issue. Perhaps this means that something else in the system is responsible for this breakage.
Can test/provide logs/etc. with guidance.

I pretty much only use Plasma, I've tried multiple distros, Arch, Fedora, OpenSUSE, this bug persists throughout all of them.
What I realized by my probably eighth reinstall (I may have gone too far trying to fix this), is that the bug doesn't present itself if I keep the General Behavior - System Settings option Paste selected text
checked.
The bug only starts happening once you disable that option, and then restart the plasma session, be it from restarting or logging out and in again.
Middle click paste fixed it. And just to verify I disabled it on my Intel system and the bug showed up. I think this one can be closed if it works for everyone else. Is there an open bug report on KDE's tracker? Nothing comes up in a google search but I seriously can't navigate their site.
I spoke too soon, I found two reports with recent comments related to this.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462673 From December, likely the same bug but the solution hasn't been posted yet.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433854 An older thread probably unrelated but the latest comment is the same bug.
Also forgot to say thank you Gabriel for finding the solution! If only Bugzilla had an edit comment option for x minutes after you post.

Re-enabling middle click paste seemed to resolve the problem for a while but now it's returned regardless of that setting.

Can confirm. Just have to add that pasting works fine inside Firefox but trying to paste in another app pastes nothing. Also KDE's clipboard history shows the last copied string as "currently copied" and doesn't save things copied on Firefox.

Can confirm with Firefox 110.0.1 on Arch Linux running Wayland session of KDE Plasma.
I can't copy links via context menu too. bug 1791417 and bug 1717305 seem duplicates.
