Linux has moved on to the *gcc_x86* versions. These older versions work but hav a few problems, in particular they presume a frame pointer so you can't use -fomit-frame-pointer. At one time Linux used these versions so it should be possible to change the other platforms to use the new files. Obviously it needs testing.
xpconnect owns xptcall.
