Import assertions has been demoted to stage 2 and has been disabled in safari. https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=251600
I will follow up in the email thread regarding removing it from interop 2023, as we no longer have confidence in the shape of the current proposal at tc39. (see the note at the top of https://github.com/tc39/proposal-import-assertions). I'm not 100% sure who the right people to talk to are but I'll try to get the ball rolling.

Import assertions dropped as per: https://github.com/web-platform-tests/wpt-metadata/pull/3680
I've updated the metadata in interop-2023-modules to exclude those failed tests related to the spec issue https://github.com/whatwg/html/issues/9571
We have achieved 100% pass, whereas the other two browsers (Chrome & Webkit) are 99% pass.
