Currently it is only possible to close a PiP window by using either the unpip button (which forces focus back to the specific tab) or the close button (which stops the video from playing after bug 1611186). This can be a bit annoying at times when I have opened multiple PiP windows and one of following situations happens:
- I no longer wish to stare at one of the pip windows but would still like to keep the audio going,
- One of the PiP windows blocks something in the main window that I wanted to click on, and I'd prefer not move or resize the PiP window because AFAIK there is no way to ask Firefox to not remember the last position/size and use the default instead.
In either case I am forced to switch quickly between multiple tabs and/or stopping/resuming playback which can be cumbersome. It would be nice if I would be able to choose to close a PiP window without stopping playback. I seem to remember the PiP window spawning its own icon/item in the OS taskbar/panel back in around FF68, but currently the option to minimize the PiP Window is greyed out when I right-click on it.
FWIW I think both the unpip and close buttons have their own use cases and I am not advocating to change the default behavior for these buttons.

I just closed a tab from which I just enabled the PiP player, without really meaning it. I agree this would be useful.
Another way that would work for me is asking for confirmation when trying to close a tab with a PiP player. Let me know if I should open another bug for this.
