User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/109.0
Steps to reproduce:
I edited an existing filter to match the "from" address of two new messages. (The filter sets a tag so the row is colored differently.) I selected both message rows, then Tools > Run Filters on Selected Messages. No effect. I selected the mailbox folder instead and then Tools > Run Filters on Folder. That worked... The two messages changed color.
I'm running the latest version offered by Pop!_OS's app manager... Sorry if this bug is already fixed in a newer version of Thunderbird.
Actual results:
No effect from "run filters on selected messages"
but "run filters on folder" did work.
Expected results:
"Run filters on selected messages" should have affected the selected messages.

Thanks Chris.
Does this still fail when using version 115?

We do rely on your feedback to keep the bug report moving forward. This is incomplete without further feedback.
Sorry, I didn't see the previous comment. The problem still exists on version 115.5.0, but I noticed a new clue: The problem only occurs when messages are selected in the unified view. When I instead select one account, then select messages and apply the filter, it works! Note that to test, I only selected two messages, and both were for the same account. But only after I selected the single account (instead of unified) did the filter work on the selections. I hope that helps.
