MiTID (Danish Digital ID) stopped working with Firefox 110

(Core :: DOM: Security, defect, P1)

Tracking Status
firefox-esr102 --- unaffected
firefox110 + fixed
firefox111 + fixed
firefox112 + fixed

(Keywords: regression)

We have multiple reports on SUMO, that there is a problem with Firefox and MitID.

Danish users can't connect to online government services that require identification through MitID (to pay their taxes for example).

Twitter comments indicate that it worked with 109, it stopped working after the update to 110. I am marking ESR102 with '?' until we have confirmation that the branch is not affected.

:tschuster, since you are the author of the regressor, bug 1804145, could you take a look? Also, could you set the severity field?

Flags: needinfo?(tschuster)
Component: Security: PSM → DOM: Security

I'm going to guess Severity is the highest since we're going to point-release for this

Severity: -- → S1
Flags: needinfo?(tschuster)
Priority: -- → P1

Setting 111 to fixed
Regressor backed out of Beta

The bug is marked as tracked for firefox112 (nightly). We have limited time to fix this, the soft freeze is in 9 days. However, the bug still isn't assigned.

:freddy, could you please find an assignee for this tracked bug? Given that it is a regression and we know the cause, we could also simply backout the regressor. If you disagree with the tracking decision, please talk with the release managers.
