User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 I usually use command+n to open new windows (rather than command+1). Although command+1 works in bookmark management mode, command+n doesn't do anything. When I first stumbled into this I was flumuxed - I didn't know about command+1 and command+n is more natural. So the enhancement is to assign command+n to open a new navigator window when in the bookmark management mode, and to focus it on the new window. It would be logical and consistent. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on Bookmarks in the nav panel 2. Click on Manage Bookmarks.. in the drop down menu 3. Try to create a new navigator widow. On the mac this is command N. 4. Nothing happens. Actual Results: nothing happens! Expected Results: Create a new Navigator window and shift focus to that. Originally this was bug 181817: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=181817

Is this a mac only bug? Or should it cover Ctrl+N on other platforms?
This is about more than key commands. File/New Navigator Window (command+n) is not available from the Manage Bookmarks window, while Window/Navigator (command+1) is. The same is true of other Toolslike Password Manager, DOM Inspector, etc. This is the sort of problem that tends to expose the weakness of monolithic all-in-one app suites like Mozilla.

Well only sort of. It's just that somebody didn't THINK about a consistent
set of commands!
Any chance this will get some work done on it?
Seems like it would be trivial.

confirming looks like Edit > Sort Folder by Name is overriding command-N.
