User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/113.0
Steps to reproduce:
I ran Thunderbird 113.0a1 (2023-3-20) and earlier on Wayland in Plasma 5.27.3 in a Fedora 38 KDE Plasma installation. I selected mail folders with messages in them. I entered text in the Filter these messages box at the top-right of the list of emails many times.
Actual results:
The latest characters entered in the Filter these messages box were automatically deleted sometimes. The text I entered was incorrect because it was missing the deleted characters and often contained the characters I entered after the characters were deleted. I had to fix the text that was entered as a result. This problem happened most of the time when I entered text in the Filter box.
I found that 111.0a1 (2023-01-19) was the first build with this problem using mozregression. I bisected the problem with MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 mozregression --good 2023-1-18 --bad 2023-1-19 --app thunderbird --persist /tmp/mozregression -p ~/.thunderbird/9hcim5o9.default --profile-persistence reuse
The pushlog had 282 merge changesets so I'm unsure which change is responsible for this problem.

Expected results:
The text I entered in the Filter these messages box should appear correctly without any characters being automatically deleted.

I used to see this, but can no longer reproduce it on:
113.0a1 (2023-03-20) (64-bit); MacOS Ventura 13.2.1

I still see this problem with 113.0a1 (2023-03-21). bug 1820423 looks similar, but I can see the latest characters I entered before they are automatically deleted.
