Please see the attached example email. The inline images are not displayed in the message reader in Thunderbird. But all other email clients I tried display them correctly: K9 Mail on Android, eM Client on Windows, Outlook on Windows. Because of this, I assume the problem is in Thunderbird.

The only workaround I found is to edit the message and in the header replace Content-Type: multipart/mixed with Content-Type: multipart/related. After this, Thunderbird shows the images like other clients do.

I could only test this on Windows.

This is not a new problem. The email is a regularly distributed newsletter and Thunderbird could never show the images, at least in the past 5 years, maybe longer.

I reduced the attached example by removing HTML and attached images, but it still reproduces the problem.
