No. Computer is very slow while _loading_ the images. Scrolling is a bit slow, too...

Additional Information: Same performance problem when loading this page in background, mozilla minimized to task bar.
The 36 images there amount to 2.6 MB of data.. adding a little to summary. Similar bug on linux was bug 121015. I don't know imagelib well - this bug may be related to bug 78300. There is also bug 73624. How many colors are you running at?

Summary: Scaled Images slow down PC → Rendering scaled Images slow down PC
I tried 8, 16 and 32 bit When using less colorbits, it's much faster... in 8 bit mouse isn't choppy any more, but mozilla is still using very much cpu power.
Important: I just tried this page in Opera... it's the same problem. Very slow there, too. Does Opera use similar code or libraries like Mozilla does? Or is IE just so well optimized? (cannot believe it...)
Why was this unmarked as dupe?
This is a problem for me too. However, this is only so on Win32. On linux, it WORKSFORME.
The current URL is a 404, is there another example?
