Steps to reproduce:

  1. open firefox with -P and create a new profile
  2. goto the live video stream website https://www.douyu.com/ and enter a room randomly such as https://www.douyu.com/9999
  3. double click the video frame or click the full-screen button at right bottom corner to set the video full-screen
  4. using nvtop on terminal to watch the gpu video memory usage

Actual results:

the video memory usage always go up, and goto 13GiB on a 6900XT gpu with 16G VRAM and then my system become stuck and then firefox got a crash

I tried to reproduce on macos using activity monitor to look at memory use, I didn't see any increase in memory. So perhaps OS or driver dependant.

Severity: -- → S3

bug disappeared in firefox default release 113.0.1

Thanks for the update. I'll close the report then.
