can't send email to a "mailing list" created with thunderbird

Steps to reproduce:

i create a new mailing list called "test" with 2 emails inside.
i try to send a mail to this list. Unable to find a button "write to" when i right-click on the list.
More over, in the writing mail windows, when i start to write a new mail, i can write "test" in the To or Cc or Bcc field. But the "send" button doesn't hightlight. TB may consider that the name of the list is not a right email syntax.
