Details

Steps to reproduce:

  • Receive an email with a PDF attachment with an outline dictionary (a.k.a. PDF bookmarks).
    Example:

    https://tug.org/TUGboat/tb28-1/tb88garcia.pdf

  • Open the PDF attachment with Thunderbird's internal PDF reader (pdf.js).

  • Click icon for "Toggle sidebar" to open sidebar.

  • Click icon for "Show document outline" to open the outline view.

  • Click one of the outline section headers.

Actual results:

  • PDF viewer jumps to that section, but also opens a new empty tab and saves a copy of the PDF to the desktop folder.

Expected results:

  • PDF viewer just jumps to that section.

This is basically a duplicate of this bug:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1791854

but for PDF outlines instead of internal links.

I think we can dupe this to bug 1791854
