User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/115.0
Steps to reproduce:
Click the >> button to show more bookmarks (only visible when the user has more bookmarks that can be displayed in the bookmark tab)
This doesn't happen always. It's rare.
Actual results:
ALL bookmarks are shown in the panel that opens, INCLUDING the ones that are already visible in the bookmarks tab.
Since the panel that opens is to see only the extra bookmarks that can't be shown, this is a bug.
Expected results:
Only the non-visible bookmarks (the extra ones) should be shown.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.
Hello,
I tried to reproduce your issue but I was unsuccessful.
Could you please answer some questions so we can investigate this further:
- Does this issue happen with a new profile? Here is a link on how to create one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles
- Does this issue happen in the latest nightly? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
- Does this issue happen when Firefox is in Troubleshoot Mode? Here's a link on how to enable it: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-troubleshoot-mode
Thank you.

Hello, it does not happen often enough for me to know if it would happen in troubleshoot mode or in a new profile.
However, I'm constantly updating to the latest nightly, and it happened yesterday.

Im confirming for now with backlog priority, but without good steps to reproduce it may be complicate to debug this, and it may end up being resolved as incomplete.
As you can see, lichess and apnews are my first two bookmarks.
Just now I clicked the >> button and again the bug occurred.
Wanted to show how it looks.

We should investigate bug 1842288 before looking into this. My suspect is that when the view breaks, like in that bug, then also updating its contents breaks.

I have this problem as well. It is not "easy to reproduce", except maybe by having the browser run for a long time and then using the >> again.
When doing that, at first the full list of entries appears, but when clicking somewhere else (so it disappears) and then clicking on the >> again it then works correctly for some/long time. Until it comes back again.
It has been happening for some time now, but it wasn't always like this.
