The Apple Java plugin causes Java to start up when chimera is launched, and causes confusion, because we can never be sure if applets are run by it, or the MRJ plugin. I suggest we have a hidden pref which disables loading the Apple java plugin, if the MRJ plugin is found.

I don't know if a new Bug Report must be filled, but will chimera use the latest Apple Java if installed, eg DP8 then DP9. Some explanation on Apple Dev Java says it possible by the way how you define the 'string', a specific version or a "##+" version.

*** Bug 174873 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
URL: http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macosx/ReleaseNotes/java141/multiplevms/index.html Now that java 1.4.1 is offically released on X, I think Camino should default to 1.4.1 unless it is not installed.

Since Camino no longer ships with the MRJ plugin (at least as of 0.7 official), is it safe to say that this bug is resolved?
