Summary: [META] Java issues in Camino → [META] Java issues tracker
Adding bug 192642 "excessive CPU usage" ... Simon Fraser says it might be caused by Java threads.

Sorry for the bugspam, made a mistake. I'm adding most java issues with the note that most (all) of them seem to be fixed when one use the Java Embedding Plugin available trough sourceforge.

Can we start going through these as we no longer are supporting 10.1 (and thus the MRJPlugin) anymore? We need to weed out the ones that are fixed by the new plugin and the ones that aren't.
IIRC, most of them work correctly with the Java Embedding Plugin but not with Apple's standard Java Plugin, so we can't (or shouldn't) close them until we ship with JEP. I don't think many, if any, involve the old MRJplugin. Jasper and I have already made notations on a number of them that are fixed by the JEP. OK, I've just gone through them all again. 2 are general plugin painting issues (real bugs), one I've been unable to test the URL and asked for an update, and all the rest seemed to be fixed by using the JEP and/or a nightly. Sound good, Samuel? :-) We should check and see if there are any Camino java bugs not on this list; I think we have most of them, but I did just add one. Sorry for the chatter :-)

Of those on the list right now, bug 163468, bug 168549, bug 172089, bug 172688, bug 185979, bug 218116, bug 224926 (login needed to fully verify, but no longer crashes), bug 226100, bug 229157, bug 244322, and bug 281292 are fixed by the JEP. Bug 288554 may or may not be fixed by the JEP. Bug 178103's testcase is no more. Bug 184755 is not Camino-specific according to smfr. Bug 293813 is a similar, Camino-specific painting issue. Bug 265845 is no longer an applet.

Now that Java doesn't totally suck in Camino any more, I think this tracker has reached the end of its usefulness. I'll call it FIXED, since a whole lot of what this was tracking was fixed by switching to JEP.
