User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20021206 Chimera/0.6+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20021206 Chimera/0.6+ Japanese is no longer displayed correctly on some pages. An example of this is: http://www.minc.gr.jp/ and http://www.citibank.co.jp/kawase_index.html where the frame on the left side is corrupt, but the right side is correct. These pages are displayed correctly in the Chimera 0.6 release, but stopped working in the nightly builds. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to http://www.minc.gr.jp/ Actual Results: The Japanese fonts on the page are corrupted. Expected Results: Displayed the Japanese correctly. If the webpage is stored in the cache, it will work correctly. This happens if the page is viewed with Chimera 0.6 release, but then viewed with the currently nightly build. If the cache is cleared, and the nightly build is used, the fonts will be corrupted.

dup of bug 153150 ? as same as bug 180703.
FYI: http://sourceforge.net/projects/monafont/ Mona Font is a Japanese proportional font which allows you to view Japanese text arts correctly.
Confirmed.

Are this bug and the bug of preferences having trouble assigning multi-byte font name the same thing?
WFM 20040206 NB, please take a second look.
Possibly it was bad on the initial value of Japanese fonts, and the problem of a bug 175651 before. But, it is displayed by Hiragino Kaku Gothic Pro W3/Hiragino Mincyou Pro W3 font now. Displaying with one's favorite font is troublesome. (It cannot set up from Font Preference...) But I think that it is displayed correctly.
Marking WFM using 20050130 NB.
